The greatest film ever

Posted : 15 years, 2 months ago on 22 January 2009 07:16 (A review of Ferris Bueller's Day Off)

Possibly the greatest, cleverest and witty film to come out of the 1980s. Every taste is catered. Watch it

A whimsical, merry affair

Posted : 15 years, 2 months ago on 22 January 2009 04:49 (A review of Step Up 2: The Streets)

This film is truly suberb, as I decanted a serving of my third special brew, i noticed that a copy of step up 2: the streets had inadvertantly fallen into my jacket pocket. I rushed to the nearest DVD player and what I saw didn't disappoint. The dance sequences are fast paced and quirky, and the coming-of-age storyline is tip-top.
From the start of the film, the action is deceptively fluent and polished. A truly exceptional watch.

The Quintessential Drifting Experience

Posted : 15 years, 2 months ago on 21 January 2009 04:53 (A review of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift)

This film defies all of my previous expectations and has turned out to be an utterly thought provoking movie experience. The opening scenes showed the flaw in the eponomous heroes psyche as he is split between Japan, the residence of his father, and the United States, his mother's domain.
When he races a school rival, presumably in order to receive sexual gratification from one of the women who watch so eagerly, he controls the car with grace and ease, but, by an unfortunate twist of fate, crashes his vehicle. But he not only destroys the vehicle, but he destroys his life in America.
He is forced to move from his comfort zone, to the busy, cold and logical land of Japan. He gains a friend, the stereotypical black wisecracker, and he is drawn into the scary world of drifting.
The ending does not disappoint, he is forced to face off against his japanese rival and ends up winning the ultimate showdown.
The story is the ultimate underdog story, he wins, we feel good and there are loads of h0t c4icks lololololol

Amazing

Posted : 15 years, 2 months ago on 11 January 2009 02:38 (A review of Scrubs)

Scrubs is a seriously funny and unique comedy that unites medical drama with slapstick and witty comedy. The character of JD, who the show is focused on, is a new doctor trying to find his way in a swamped overhyped job. He finds solace from this in his best friend, Turk, of which he has known since college. His original naivety and inability led him to meet Carla, an experienced nurse, who eventually marries Turk.
What makes Scrubs so unique is that Dr Cox, JD's father-figure and mentor, is such a jerk! He is incredibly self absorbed and is keen to bring down the chief of medicine, Dr Kelso, who is, possibly, satan himself!

An interesting and thought provoking comedy with real depth and huge charm. I dare anyone to be able to walk away from an episode mid-flow.
